CNC Milling Services for Architecture, Furniture, and Creative Builds
Chateau Brooklyn offers a full range of CNC milling and CNC services, from architectural fabrication for commercial shops and personal homes to bespoke projects for artists, brands, and designers.
With over 15 years combined experience, we work with clients across industries to produce everything from one-off 2D cutting projects to complex 3D objects and full design-build installations.
Applications Across Industries
CNC milling is a precision engineering technique that is essential for modern manufacturing across industries. From architecture and furniture to arts and events, CNC manufacturing allows designers to create specialized parts and creative products with high degrees of accuracy and repeatability.
Architectural Fabrication and Custom Furniture for Luxury Interiors and Retail Spaces
Modern designers and architects increasingly rely on CNC manufacturing for its ability to mill irregular geometry and intricate cuts like curves and embedded inlays. From individual furniture pieces like cabinets and countertops to larger scale built-ins like banquettes and product display units, CNC fabrication offers both customizability and consistency across parts.
We specialize in custom furniture fabrication for retail and residential spaces, excelling in architectural elements like permanent fixtures built to spec.
Art Fabrication: Partmaking, Props, Sculptural Forms and Fine Art
CNC sculpture fabrication makes it possible for artists, event producers, and set designers to create set pieces, props, sculptural forms, and 3D installations with a high degree of precision. Large-scale works can be milled in pieces and assembled together, ensuring that components are seamlessly aligned.
For projects involving longer production runs, like those for artists creating multiple iterations of a piece, or those requiring modular units that can be transported, rearranged, and reassembled easily, CNC milling can reproduce a limitless number of identical parts.
CNC moldmaking is another technique for mass production of 3D objects. Molds can be carved on a CNC machine to accommodate contours, crevices, and a variety of surface finishes before being cast with materials like resin or cement.
Events, Experiential Installations, and Brand Activations
The versatility and speed of digital fabrication allows brands and event managers to imagine and execute creative spaces that can convey story and identity through engaging, interactive installations.
We have designed and cut countless back drops, DJ booths, and architectural stage builds for festivals and music events, as well as brand pop-ups, activations, and immersive marketing experiences.
Materials and Capabilities
Wood, Metal, Acrylic, and Composite Materials
CNC cutting was developed to process wood and wood products like MDF, plywood, melamine, etc, but it can also be used to work other materials like foams (XPS, EPS, HDU, etc.), non-ferrous metals (brass, aluminum), composites (fiberglass, carbon fiber, LDPE, alumalite, etc), and a broad range of plastics (acrylics, polycarbonates, styrene, ABS, HDPE, PETG, etc.).
Our CNC operations and design team at Chateau Brooklyn can help you choose the correct material for your needs according to budget as well as project factors like strength, weight, durability, and finish.
Advantages of CNC Routing vs Laser Cutting – Choosing the Right Technique for Large-Format Applications
Like CNC milling, laser cutting is a computer-controlled manufacturing process. Instead of a router, a laser beam is used to cut and etch sheet materials with precision.
Between the two techniques, laser cutting can be a better choice for etching extremely fine lines and highly intricate shapes on a flat surface. However, laser cutting works best on two-dimensional paths and thin material sheets. Laser cutting materials like copper or aluminum can be a challenge, as reflective surfaces such as these can damage laser cutting equipment and cause safety hazards.
For thicker materials, reflective surfaces, large-format projects, jobs involving three-dimensional cuts, and designs that require depth, CNC routing is a better choice.
Our Process
We are well versed in all aspects of the CNC fabrication process, from concepting and initial computer assisted design (CAD) work right up to material choice, cutting and assembly, and finishing.
Design Collaboration and File Preparation
The design team at Chateau Brooklyn can bring just about anything to life, whether you’re starting from a hand drawn sketch or a complex 3D model complete with moving parts. We can help with design, file preparation, and concept refinement to bring you from ideation to construction.
Advanced Finishing Services
After cutting and assembly, our finishing team is adept at a wide variety of refinement and finishing processes and techniques like hard-coating, paint, high-gloss, varnish, staining, and scenic.
